Emerald Hills Homeowners Association

May 2008 | Message from the Board

Dear Neighbors,

Below is some information that may be of interest to you:

Clean out your garage for the community-wide Yard Sale
The Emerald Hills Home Owners Association community-wide yard sale will be Saturday, May 10th (Rain or Shine). The yard sale will start at 7 am. Start cleaning out your garages and join this annual event.

Above Ground Pools and Seasonal Pools
According to the covenants, above ground pools are not allowed. After much debate, it has been construed that an “above ground pool” may be defined as a permanent structure, large in size, with rigid sidewalls. On the other hand, a seasonal pool is a small pool usually purchased from a local department store such as Walmart or K-Mart. Seasonal pools are temporary in nature, small, made of vinyl or hard plastic with sidewalls ranging from a foot to approximately three feet high. Seasonal pools have historically been acceptable in the community as long as they are not put up before Memorial Day and are taken down by Labor Day.

Are you considering improving the exterior of your home?
According to the covenants, residents are required to get approval from Architecture Review before starting any exterior modifications to your property. This includes exterior home painting, structural additions, fences, walls, sheds, pools, etc. Please visit our community website at http://ehhoa.info/ to obtain a Modification Request Application Form.

Augusta County Sheriff
The Augusta County Sheriff’s Department is responsible for the general public safety of all residents in Augusta County. The Sheriff’s Department can help you with issues dealing with illegal fireworks, unlicensed mini-bikes and go-carts driving up and down our streets, speeding traffic, and other illegal behavior. Please do not hesitate to call the Sheriff’s Department at (540) 245-5333.

As always, thank you for your time, patience, and most importantly your support. The Board of Directors is proud to serve you and is committed to continuing the excellent quality of life we enjoy here in Emerald Hills.

Sincerely,

Kurt Michael, President
Emerald Hills Homeowners Association
