Fishersville Weather Station Reports, Data, and Charts
Observation data is automatically generated and posted in either text or html format. The 'Today' report is unverified and must be used with caution. 'Hourly' and 'Daily' reports are verified each day and corrected as necessary. The 'WindMGust' parameter in the 'Hourly' report is the Maximum sustained wind observed for a 15 second interval. Peak wind (not sustained) can be found in the Climatological reports. However, this paramater is sometimes in error until later correction. METAR data is included here for convenience, however is retrieved from the indicated stations and not generated at this station.
Climatological reports are automatically generated and provide a summary of station data by month and year. These reports are totally text based. The 2002 reports are incomplete as the station did not exist prior to 9/11/2002. These reports are known to be inacurate. Usethe Special Reports for most accurate data.
Live Charts is a page that contains selected station graphics. They are automatically updated along with the primary station graphics. A link for some charts or graphics is also shown to allow for easier saving or printing.
Special Charts & Reports are manually updated as time permits; typically every few days. Daily summary data is used to build these charts and reports. All charts and reports are posted in Acrobat (.pdf) format. You must have Acrobat Reader properly installed on your workstation to view these charts and reports. Moisture data is the sum of rain and and computation of melted snow. All data that makes up these charts and reports is verified and corrected as necessary. See the Rain and Snow...topic in Help for more about rain and snow considerations.
The Weather Data Window is automatically generated and contains key current weather conditions parameters for today and yesterday, including manually entered snow data.. The Wind Gust paramater on this window is the maximim wind and not a sustained gust and must be used with caution as it is sometimes in error. It's best to check the hourly report before using this data.
Snow measurement data is the actual text file used to input snow data. Snow depth indicated as "Snow" in the reports is the measure of snow at the stake, usually taken at 6am each day. It is manually entered and then automatically placed into the correct date position in the hourly report. That value is then carried down until the next reading is taken. The snow depth chart updates stop after the last snow of the season and resume again with the first measurable snow depth at the start of the next season. In summary data and reports, the snow depth represents the maximum depth for that day. Use the Weather Data Window to get the today and yesteday snow summary data. Snow 'melt' is computed and can be viewed in the Tabular Summary Reports as combined with any rain as 'moisture'. See the Rain and Snow...topic in Help for more.
